[Essay 6] Task 2, Essay: Use of the Internet

The widespread use of the Internet has brought many problems. What do you think are the main problems associated with the use of the web? What solutions can you suggest?

Probably most people on the planet use the Internet almost every day. This modern innovation has totally changed the world. But use of the web is not as safe as you could think about. I will try to explain it.

Firstly, a lot of people are addicted to the Internet. They spend all their leisure time in front of a monitors. This is a fast way to health problems because of lack of physical exercises. Especially that is important for adults. The cure is simple: go outside and play physical game like football, go to the gym, etc.

Secondly, available content is not always appropriate for children. There are websites with information about violence, weapons, sex, etc. The Internet for sure should not be use by parents as a free nanny. To protect children from inappropriate content found online try to use for example content filters available in wi-fi routers.

Furthermore, if you use strange websites, your computer can be affected with a virus. In the worst case you will lost all your data. So it is really important not to open strange files or files from unknown people. Moreover your data can be stolen. Think about your passwords to the Internet banking systems and never ever share your passwords with other people.

The Internet is a powerful tool but it is very important to know how to use it properly. People have still a lot to learn about.
