[Essay 22] ARGUMENT essay - Gap year

ARGUMENT essay - Gap year (essay not checked by professional teacher)

Some people think that students who finished high school need to have a year of break or a holiday before continuing their study in a university. Do you agree or disagree?

I agree (plan/ideas):
- refresh mind
- "charge battery"
- earn money for student tuition (czesne)
- see the world to know what they are interested in/what to study later
- personal improvements / more skills/
- learn language

Many people wonder what they should do after high school. Some people think that it is best for them to have so called a gap year or a long holiday before going to a university. Although there are some disadvantages of such break, in this essay I will argue for longer holiday or a gap year.

[CHARGING BATTERY]
Firstly, after many years of studying at high school students should be encouraged to refresh their minds and body. Going somewhere abroad and resting is even called as "charging internal batteries". People who are tired are not as efficient at school as their rested peers. The result of that can be seen for example when looking at lower grades given to tired students.

[MONEY]
Secondly, a gap year can be especially useful for students who have to earn money to cover their university fees which nowadays are really high. If someone earns money for a year being given only the minimum wage, then probably these money will be enough for him for two years of studying. Often this is a much better way of funding university fees than taking a big student loan which has to be paid back after studies.

To sum up, I am inclined to believe that although it is not easy to get back to school after long break, there are very good sites of a gap year or a long holiday and taking it could be a great idea, especially for ones who need to charge their batteries or earn money to pay tuition fees.
